How can you help?
Everyone can play a part in helping to
enhance the environment and to protect endangered species. As we
work together to save these beautiful birds, members and helpers
of the Kaharoa Kokako Trust can take great satisfaction from the
extraordinary results we have achieved.
We invite you to be part of our success by helping out in the
following ways:
Make a donation
Become a volunteer
Adopt a track
Make a donation to our Kokako Nest Egg
The Kokako Nest Egg has been established to provide funding for
Kaharoa Kokako Trust activities in perpetuity. The Trust is
committed to achieving financial self-sufficiency for future
operations through creating an investment fund known as the
“Kokako Nest Egg”.
All cash donations to the Trust will be invested in the Kokako
Nest Egg to ensure on-going protection of kokako at Kaharoa.

Help out at our volunteer work days
The Trust holds occasional work days to conduct track
maintenance or to fill bait stations with poison. The poisoning
operations only take place in the nesting season.
These work days give volunteers an opportunity to enjoy the bush
while completing a useful task. Volunteers are notified in
advance of work days, which usually take place on a Saturday
morning.

on the volunteer contact list.

Adopt a track
The Adopt-a-track scheme is designed for volunteers who want to
conduct track maintenance in their own time. You can choose a
track that suits your fitness level and keep it maintained at
your convenience throughout the year.
