We're a passionate community of volunteers dedicated to protecting and enhancing biodiversity in the Kaharoa Conservation Area. For over 25 years, we've worked tirelessly to support our local kōkako population and the diverse ecosystem they call home.
Our grassroots efforts have resulted in an increase from 23 kōkako in 1997 to more than 120 birds in the latest survey (in 2022), but there's still much work to be done.

As a volunteer-led organisation, we operate very efficiently, ensuring that every dollar donated goes a long way. Donations over $5 are tax-deductible.

We welcome individual donations through our Give a Little and Give a Trap pages. Alternatively, if you live locally and would like to donate your time, there are opportunities to volunteer in Kaharoa Forest. Protecting and growing our local kōkako population.

Interested in becoming a sponsor? Your company’s support can help to expand our conservation efforts and invest more resources into protecting kōkako.
